My mom moved to Pueblo, Colorado several year ago. When she moved there I knew almost nothing of the town. The more I researched and the more people I talked with, the more I was unsure about her decision to move there. The reputation and stories were not promising! But, mom saw an up and coming town filled with friendly people, and boy was she right! Over the years I’ve grown to really love this town. The arts, the food, the people, the nature, it’s just so great! These is still a lot of stigma around Pueblo, so I wanted to make a video showing the Pueblo that I see and have experienced. It includes some of my favorite things: the Riverwalk, Neon Alley, Pueblo State Park, the Slopper, Walter Brewing and so much more! I hope this video shows a side of Pueblo that maybe doesn’t get as much attention, but that I’ve really grown to love. Thanks for watching LeggLife! Originally the Pueblo Brewing company, it was purchased by German immigrant Martin Walter in the late 1800's for $7000. After closing in the 1970's, the brewery was purchased in 2014 by local Puebloans who obtained the original pre-prohibition Walter's Pilsner recipe from Walter's descendants. Today, it is a Pueblo institution, serving beer with a local flair. I have never been to Walter's, but I love their aesthetic and will definitely be stopping by next time I'm in Pueblo for a pint. AUG 11, 2021 Andy Sanchez The Walter Brewing Company Doors Open at 5:00pm Storytelling at 6:00pm Andy Sanchez is an owner with The Walter Brewing Company and a proud Puebloan. A passion for Pueblo’s business development and Walter’s 140-year history drive him daily. Pueblo’s farming/ranching history, fine art, and a focus on historic preservation surrounds his work and volunteerism in our community as well. Andy’s academic and professional background surrounding business and product development helped contribute to the Walter’s Pueblo team that brought back Walter’s Beer to Pueblo in connection with the Walter family from Wisconsin. His grandparents farmed and ranched in our area and served Walter’s Beer at their tavern prior to the original Walter’s location closing in Pueblo in 1975. Walter’s Pueblo still overlaps with the Walter family from Wisconsin and the Pueblo microbrewery and taproom are located on Oneida Street in Pueblo’s downtown historic district. Walter’s current building was built by the Lemp Brewing Company of St. Louis who were the first brewers of lager beer in the U.S. in 1839.
