A 25-acre, year-round zoo hosting over 420 animals across 140+ species.  Located inside historic City Park, it offers a manageable, family-friendly walk that takes about 1.5 hours to fully explore. The original core of the Pueblo Zoo was built between 1933 and 1940 as a Great Depression-era public relief project. The city began gathering animals as early as the turn of the 20th century.

Visit the six art galleries featuring southwest and traveling regional, national and international collections. Bring the kids to the award-winning Buell Children's Museum, attend an event or watch a music, dance or theatre performance in it's quaint 500-seat performing arts theater. 

Located inside the historic Pueblo City Park, the city park rides are an affordable, nostalgic amusement park featuring 10 vintage rides including the 1911 Historic Carousel ( A beautifully preserved antique carousel set up locally in 1940) Miniature Train that rides around the lake, a mini roller coaster, tiny Ferris wheel and other nostalgic amusement park rides. Individual tickets cost only 25¢. Pueblo City Park is a sprawling 157-acre park.  Established in 1904, it offers a wide range of amenities including walking paths, bocce courts, a dog park, a disc golf course, and two beautiful lakes, Horseshoe Lake and Lake Joy.

Explore one of Colorado's largest collections featuring military, space, and civilian aircraft, along with vehicles and artifacts that chronicle over a century of history. Spanning over 85,000 square feet, our two hangars and outdoor exhibits showcase a diverse array, including civilian and military aircraft, ground vehicles, missiles, and the Southern Colorado Space Museum.

Learn about Pueblo's historical past.  Exhibits covering Pueblo's historical flood of 1921, artifacts and pictural exhibits, horse carriages, saddles, and more. Located across the street from the historic Pueblo Union Depot.

Built in 1893, this 37-room mansion was home to the John A. and Margaret Thatcher family and was named for Mrs. Thatcher's favorite flower. Designed by noted New York architect Henry Hudson Holly and two years under construction, the mansion was completed in 1893. Nearly all furnishings, accessories, decorative arts, paintings, custom woodwork, wall and window treatments are original to the home. As seen on A & E cable network's nationally televised "America's Castles" and the HGTV Series "Christmas Castles"

Located in the historic former Colorado Fuel and Iron Company (CF&I) medical dispensary building. It preserves the rich industrial history of the American West through massive archival collections, mining artifacts, and cultural exhibits showcasing the diverse workforce that built the region.

Mesa Drive-In Theatre is Pueblo's only drive-in movie theatre — a beloved piece of Colorado history that has been entertaining families under the stars since 1951. Family owned and proud to carry on the tradition of first-run Hollywood films on two big screens, digital projection, and the kind of experience you just can't get anywhere else. Open Seasonally.

The fire museum is operated by the Pueblo Firefighters Historical Society, which is dedicated to the preservation and presentation of the history of the Pueblo Fire Department and its firefighters. This historic building is a reportedly haunted. Stories tied to the site usually focus on apparitions and shadowy sightings and disembodied voices, screams, footsteps and moving objects.

Located on the north end of Dundee Park on Elizabeth Street, The Slab is four basketball courts, that are lighted and open from 6am-10pm. A local favorite,  The Slab originally opened in the 1954 was recently completed with brand new concrete and most notably vibrant, beautiful artwork which was designed and painted by local artists. Courts are free to the public.

Traces the cultural history of the region. Established in 1959 at the site of an airport hangar, this museum also exhibits artifacts from the excavations carried out in the region.

The Lake Pueblo Reservoir Trails offer some of the best winter mountain biking in the state of Colorado, with one of the longest riding seasons! Trails vary from flowing moderates to blocky, rocky, woody technical challenges. There's something for every rider.

Waterworks Park is an $11 million riverfront recreation area located along the Arkansas River in

Pueblo, CO, just north of City Park. Spearheaded by Pueblo Water to rehabilitate the historically dangerous Southside Diversion Dam, the park officially celebrated its grand opening in March 2025. The project successfully transformed the stretch into a fully navigable, family-friendly water playground equipped with drop pools, chutes, wading areas, and whitewater features. 

The Whitewater Park or as known as The Kayak Park, is located in downtown Pueblo. It is within walking distance of shops and restaurants in the Historic Downtown District between Union Ave. and the West 4th Street Bridge. The park has eight (8) drops and is approximately 1/2 mile long. The names of the drops and pools reflect the paintings, Drop 3 is a rabbit, Drop 5 is raccoons. The north bank of the river is home to the Pueblo Levee Mural Project.  

The main access is from Pillar Park via Chapa Place, take out is at Union Ave. There is also a parking lot located on the southside of the trail located at the Main St. Trailhead on Corona Ave. and Main Street. Parking along Corona Street and walking down to the river is also an option. Please take note, this is a real river and not an amusement play park.

The Historic Arkansas Riverwalk

is a premier 32-acre urban waterfront promenade located in the heart of downtown Pueblo, CO. It features beautifully landscaped walking paths guided boat rides, pet friendly and health promoting walking path, waterfalls, fountains, historical sculptures, and localized dining options. The channel brings the Arkansas River back to its original historic path before it was diverted after the devastating 1921 flood.​
